A man calling at his mate’s house
Saw a sight to stun
With a bucketful of nails
His kids were having fun
All three with hammers
Were banging nails everywhere
Into all the furniture
It seemed without a care!

The man said to his mate
In horrified awe
As the kids continued banging
Nails in by the score
‘ I can’t believe my eyes
How expensive this must be’
‘ Oh no,’ said his mate
‘ I got the nails for free!’
